making finance work for africa – first conference

Africa has been described as the continent with the most resources yet the worst place to live amongst the other four continents. One of the solutions that has come up at several economic conferences is how to let the continent feed it self. The private sector has thus been named as the engine of growth by several economic partners including the G8 countries.

At a press briefing on making finace work in africa,  Thomas Mueller, with the GTZ, reitrated this fact. He described the continent as being capable without the big brother organisations, IMF,world bank etc.

But my problem is do we need the west to tell us how we run our continent? We have been sitting on the fence long enough, lets wake up and save the continent.
